In the summer of 2015, a few parents and coaches got together to make sure that the kids had some opportunities to play hockey in other rinks and against other teams in a competitive but fun environment. The coaches associated were all proponents of letting the kids play, having fun first and learning to love the game of hockey.
Out of those conversations came the Orlando Hammerheads. In our first year, we organized a team for the Mites where most of our kids were playing at the time. For the 2016-2017 season, we added a Squirts team. For 2017-2018, it is our goal to add a Peewee (12U) and Bantam (14U) team.
The team is open to all who want to play so long as they meet a few basic safety criteria. We are strong believers that by building a love for the game the skills and drive will follow accordingly.
